He is also the first Indian doctor to have successfully used Stem Cell Transplant for treating Systemic Sclerosis. A path breaking anemia clinic for the integrated treatment of anemia related disorders was conducted under his leadership at FMRI. Credited with having established 14 low cost BMT centers pan India and excellent outcomes, his outreach has had significant impact in training medical practitioners at the grassroots level and serving society, especially the economically underprivileged.
