Dr. Rajiv Agarwal

Dr. Rajiv Agarwal is the Vice Chairman & Unit Head and Head of Academic & Research, Cardiac Sciences at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket. With 36+ years of experience, he is one of India’s most accomplished interventional cardiologists, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex heart diseases.

An alumnus of AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr. Agarwal completed his MBBS, MD (Internal Medicine), and DM (Cardiology) from the institute. He further enhanced his expertise with a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA, and was later awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).

Dr. Agarwal has extensive experience in coronary angioplasty and stenting, IVUS, rotablation, pacemaker, CRT and ICD implantation, valvuloplasty, structural heart interventions, TAVI, MitraClip, carotid and renal angioplasty, and cardiac catheterization procedures. Before joining Max Healthcare, he held senior academic and clinical positions at AIIMS and served as Director of Cardiac Catheterisation Labs at Batra Hospital.

A recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the AIIMS Institute Medal for Best MBBS Graduate and the Pandit L. C. Richarya Memorial Oration, Dr. Agarwal has also authored multiple research papers published in leading national and international medical journals. He is widely recognized for combining advanced cardiac care with academic excellence and evidence-based treatment.
