S. Bharti is the founder and managing director of Bharti Eye Foundation, New Delhi and Bharti Eye Hospital, New Delhi.
He is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and now primarily an anterior segment surgeon and specializes in Cataract, Corneal Diseases and Refractive Surgery and has certified LASIK training centre having trained surgeons from Asia-Pacific.
He is a pioneer in the field of refractive surgery and phacoemulsification. He started refractive surgery in 1987 with Radial Keratotomy and started Automated Keratomileusis in 1994.

He was one of the first to start LASIK in the country in 1995. He also participated in a multicenter study on Lasik by Loma-Linda University, California, USA.
He has presented over 50 original papers in various national and international conferences including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, ASCRS, ESCRS, Korean SCRS and APAO.
He has been a faculty in instruction courses at national and international meetings and on the evaluation panel for Excimer Laser, Phaco accessories, Accommodative Intraocular lenses, Lasik instruments and blades etc.
He has been part of many instruction courses and lives surgery sessions on Lasik and phaco-emulsification throughout the country.
A philanthropist by nature he runs a charitable institution “Keshav Sagar Eye Research Foundation” for the underprivileged providing free eye care services.
He is associated with Rotary for their free cataract surgery “Gift of Sight” campaign and was awarded the Rotary outstanding services award in the centennial year.
