About Dr Randhir Sud

Dr Sud is a one of the most eminent gastroenterologist in India, who is currently appointed as Chairman at Institute of Digestive and Hepatobiliary Sciences, Medanta Hospital.
With a mounting practise of over 39+ years, he has established therapeutic Gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy & GI Oncology in India.
Some of the key areas his interst include Liver disease treatment, internal medicine, disorders of digestive system, gastrointestinal tract, abdominal pain, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, abnormalities of bile duct, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography etc.
Dr. Randhir received bharat ratna priyadarshini award in 2003.
He was also awarded by the Government of India the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2008
He has obtained his MBBS degree from Government Medical College, Amritsar in 1977 .Followed by MD (Medicine) & DM Gastroenterology from the famous AIIMS, New Delhi.
He also stood First in Final Professional M.B.B.S Examination.
He received Indian Society of Gastroenterology “Master in Endoscopy” gold medal 2004.
He also did a specialized traning from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard, Medical School, Boston, USA.
Dr Sud was formerly a teaching faculty for undergraduates & postgraduates students at AIIMS & examiner for Diplomate National Board Examination in Gastroenterology.
He was also visiting professor at Harvard Medical School, Boston USA, University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Galvaston Texas U.S.A & University of Alabama Birmingham Alabama U.S.A.
He has published various national & international paper publications.
His expertise lies in GI Endoscopy, GI Cancers, and Hepatic diseases.
He has many noteworthy articles in news media like Outlook India, Kathmandu post , Hindustan Times.
