Dr. Utpal Shah, a highly trained and experienced Cardiac Surgeon has been practicing cardiac surgeries for the past 31+ years.
His professional memberships include, the General Medical Council, England, the Gujarat Medical Council, India, the Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons of India and the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Shah completed his graduation in 1983 from NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad, followed by MS (General Surgery) from Gujarat University in 1987. He then did his M.Ch – Cardio-Thoracic Surgery from School of Physiotherapy, BYL Nair hospital, Byculla, Mumbai in 1990.
He has obtained super-speciality training in England for four years at the Royal College of Surgeons, the UK. He has worked at reputed medical centres, some of which are Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and the Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham among others.
Dr. Shah is an experienced cardiac surgeon who specialises in performing cardiac transplants, high risk and Redo coronary bypass surgery, adult and pediatric cardiac surgery, thoracic and aortic dissection and aneurysm surgery.
He is also known to perform bypass surgeries, heart valve surgeries, keyhole angioplasty, infarct exclusion surgery, and implants of Left ventricular assist device (LVAD) among other surgeries and treatments.
Dr. Shah has co-authored few research papers for medical journals.
